100 YEARS OF LOWA
In the tranquil town of Jetzendorf, north of Munich, Lorenz Wagner, the son of shoemaker Johann Wagner, founded the LOWA company in 1923.
He spent days and months developing lasts, models and soles. His work laid the foundation for the company's future success.
But the company's 100-year history has not only been marked by rosy times. In the 1950s in particular, LOWA had to contend with major challenges, which Sepp and Berti Lederer, Lorenz Wagner's daughter, successfully mastered.
A new era finally began in the early 1990s. It heralded a turning point and made LOWA what the company is today: one of the most important outdoor shoe manufacturers in the world.
The BREACHER S MID is part of a completely new generation of combat boots that impress with their functionality and light weight. The upper material is a combination of very abrasion-resistant, breathable CORDURA® material with particularly water vapor-permeable suede. The ankle-high shaft of the boot offers an ideal combination of stability and high freedom of movement and ensures an optimal climate in the inner shoe area thanks to the textile windows in the upper foot area. In addition to the comfortable dual-density PU midsole with integrated arch support for particularly long marches, the certified real ankle protection system with PORON® technology in particular makes these boots the perfect equipment for soldiers and private military contractors.
The BREACHER S MID is equipped with a very abrasion-resistant and particularly breathable textile lining. It is certified as a work shoe in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012, is antistatic and has a cold and heat-insulating sole complex. The outsole is not only very slip-resistant, but also resistant to oil, petrol and contact heat.
Approved as a work shoe in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012
The BREACHER S MID has slip-resistant properties. The slip resistance gives the outsole the necessary grip for a firm footing in everyday work.
The VIBRAM VANGUARD sole offers long-lasting comfort in the particularly stressed forefoot and heel areas thanks to its dual-density PU midsole, while at the same time providing the right support in the arch of the foot. The abrasion-resistant outsole is very slip-resistant, heat-resistant and fuel-resistant thanks to its innovative profile design in combination with a special rubber mixture.
Thanks to the two-zone lacing, the forefoot and shaft of the BREACHER S MID have separately adjustable lacing zones. This means that the shoe can be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and can be laced differently for walking uphill and downhill.
The BREACHER S MID is equipped with closed-design lace hooks. These guide laces particularly securely and prevent the shoes from snagging when they come into contact with objects.
The textile lining of the BREACHER S MID offers a pleasant lightness. The textile material is durable, easy to care for and comfortable.
Light and robust
Shoes that are lined with a textile material score points for their lightness. The material is also very robust, making it extremely easy to care for.
Optimal comfort in summer
Shoes with textile lining are particularly popular in summer, as they provide the best comfort. As it is very wide-meshed, the air can circulate well.
TECHNICAL DATA
NAME BREACHER S MID
SOLE VIBRAM VANGUARD
The VIBRAM VANGUARD sole offers long-lasting comfort in the particularly stressed forefoot and heel areas thanks to its dual-density PU midsole, while at the same time providing the right support in the arch of the foot. The abrasion-resistant outsole is very slip-resistant, heat-resistant and fuel-resistant thanks to its innovative profile design in combination with a special rubber mixture.
SLIP RESISTANCE
The sole meets the highest requirements for slip resistance. The slip resistance depends primarily on the design and rubber mixture of the outsole. The shoes offer optimal slip resistance on smooth, wet and oily surfaces, but also good grip on rough terrain.
Vibram
Proven Vibram rubber sole from the quality supplier from Italy.
MIDSOLE 100% polyurethane (PU)
Polyurethane (PU) is a soft plastic that has very good cushioning properties and is therefore mostly used in the midsole. The PU content makes the soles light and flexible in their function.
INSOLE Approx. 1% carbon fiber
Carbon fibers are made of carbon, also known as carbon. They are characterized by a remarkably high strength and, as a reinforcing material in the composite material, ensure enormous stability. Carbon fibers are also very light.
Approx. 90% polyurethane (PU)
Polyurethane (PU) is a soft plastic that has very good cushioning properties and is therefore mostly used in the midsole. The PU content makes the soles light and flexible in their function.
Approx. 9% polyamide
Polyamides are plastics that are synthesized and can therefore be used to make synthetic fibers. In addition to their great resistance, the dimensional stability, tear and abrasion resistance and waterproofness of polyamides are particularly characteristic. Polyamides are also elastic, very stretchy and highly glossy.UPPER MATERIAL
Approx. 65% suede
The suede corresponds to the underside of the skin and is characterized by a loose fiber structure, which results in a velvety surface and a light pile. Suede is particularly hard-wearing and open-pored due to its rough texture. Depending on the desired look, the suede can remain untreated or be oiled or waxed.
Approx. 35% textile
Our natural and synthetic textiles enable optimal heat and moisture management thanks to their application-specific properties. Due to their structural design, they are supple and thus ensure that our products are very comfortable to wear.
LINING MATERIAL TEXTILE LINING
100% TEXTILE LINING

FUNCTIONS
CLOSED HOOKS
The shoe is equipped with lace hooks in a closed design. The laces are guided securely and cannot slip out of the lace hook. Closed lace hooks reduce the risk of the shoe getting caught on objects.
LOWA ANKLE SHIELD
The shoe model is equipped with and certified for high-performance protection of the ankle area against injuries caused by external influences (additional requirement AN). The protection of the inner and outer ankles is guaranteed by PORON® padding in the affected area. This material is characterized by particularly high shock absorption.
TWO ZONE LACING
The forefoot and shaft areas can be laced to different tightnesses. MORE...
ORTHOTICS CERTIFIED
The shoe is equipped with a removable footbed for optimal individual adjustment and, in conjunction with the orthopedic insoles ErgoPad® work:x and ErgoPad® work:h+ from BAUERFEIND®, is certified and approved for use as a work shoe in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012.
CONSTRUCTION METHOD
Glue-lasted construction
All MOUNTAINEERING and TREKKING shoes are manufactured at LOWA using the so-called glue-lasted construction. This is an old shoemaking technique that uses strong tension to "pinch" the leather of the shaft around the last and glue it to the underside of the insole. Finally, the shaft is glued to the sole.
SHAFT HEIGHT
Shaft height measured in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012: 175 mm
Shaft height outside: 190 mm
Shaft height inside: 145 mm
Shape in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012: B (low boot)
WEIGHT 1520 g/pair (UK 8)
