The binoculars have a 42mm objective lens diameter, a metal body and nitrogen-filled prisms for a bright and clear image even in poor weather conditions.

Furthermore, they feature a scale for distance and altitude determination.

In the 1980s, the military optical factories developed the 88 model based on the characteristics of military binoculars from Western countries in response to Navy requirements. Its optical system adopted the American prism system, which was rare at the time.
