(Stasi) Carl Zeiss binoculars 7x40 (MDI) military / secret police east german

This is a used binoculars CARL ZEISS JENA 7x40 MDI east german military  / secret police (MDI = Ministerium des Innern, ministry of the interior, STASI).

It is featuring an extremely sturdy and heavy body, a reticle at right tube which can be illuminated by a battery powered device (included) and a detector for active infra-red sources, which is charged by the UV contribution of the daylight.
The eyecups are made of soft rubber and fold in so that the binocular can be used with gas-mask.

This binoculars is a absolute rarity and a "MUST-HAVE" for every collector.
